Has anyone taken a track day in their DHC?

Apart from a crash helmet was there any special preparation needed like a roll bar, advisable I know, but do they allow you on the track without one?

Yes, but most important is to uprate your brakes!

It depends on the event rules & your own sense of self-preservation but here you would need a roll cage with a modified car.

Standard brake pads will need a rest after every few laps & you will need to be aware of oil surge with the RV8. Watch for the oil light when you get on the power out of a corner. If it is an issue overfill the sump to 1/2 inch over the high mark. If you have a breather/catch tank system keep an eye on the tank. The Rover likes to accumulate oil at the top & if it starts to pump actual oil into the breather line the catch tank will fill up in a couple of laps.

So, come in after 2 laps & check everything before & approach your limits from the safe side. Have fun & don't turn in to the corners too early!

hmmm i think most track days are a bit tamer over here i've done a couple now and as i said there can be anything from an mg midget to an old alfa to an aston martin

i doubt you will be turning your tyres to molten rubber or your brakes for that matter
