Hi all.
I met jolyon39 through an auction on NZ's ebay who suggested I join this forum. I've got a laid up 4spd(originally) TR7 I'll be pulling out of storage to get on the road for NZ's summer. Have put a 5spd gearbox in it and have just bought the 5spd rear diff and propshaft from Jolyon in an unknown state so fingers crossed it works out. Just need to work out how to get it to Wellington now!.
Head was warped when I bought the car, had it repaired and planed, gearbox blew up on my drive the day I bought it (I drove it home so was glad it wasn't any sooner as it wasn't registered) and have done a fair amount of tidy up on it already and used it as my daily drive 11 years ago.
We're a real car family between me and my dad. 2 Mk1 Escorts, TR3 (unrestored), TR5 (professionally restoration almost finished), TR6 (needs chassis work) and TR7 (remedial rust work and respray to go). So hopefully two TRs on the road this summer.

Welcome,
I think a diff company in Auckland with a name like steeley gears freights diffs all over the country and may be able to help you with freight.

Cheers all.
Jolyon, the old man is heading down this way round September so I'll rope him into it. I just bought a doer upper car transporter trailer that I need to get to WOF standard before I can pick up the 7. Then I'll be cooking with gas. CO2 to be precise, atleast till I can find an argon bottle to buy. Damn BOC and their horrendous rental prices.
PeterTR7V8 and some say our beer is better
Enjoyed your blog. Was at the Mt Vic hillclimb this year spectating. I take it you didn't go back after your off last year? I didn't see you there...

Well I was there & I went 2 secs faster than '09. Helps to keep it on the black stuff I found. [xx(] Maybe you will your car ready in time for 2011.
Which club have you signed up to? The WTSCC could really do with your $20. [:)] You don't get a fancy magazine but we have just overhauled our website
http://triumph.net.nz & one of our members has several TR7 wrecks in his back yard that he is parting out.

Only saw about 3 groups in the afternoon. Walked half way down from the top but had other engagements, shame I missed you, love the sound of rover v8s. Could be in it next year if I get one of my Mk1s up and running. It's a 2l rally car with full cage that I used to hillclimb with in my teens.
Will print out the membership form and sign up to WTSCC, sounds good.

Good to see more Kiwis coming on the site[:D]
I used to be an old racer back in the '70's as well, but kept on racing till the early naughties. Ran a Vitesse 1600 till a very quick Mercedes came along[:0]
The car is unable to handle my driving capabilities

No Beans, the Mercedes replaced the Vitesse, I sold the Vitesse in '79 and bought the Merc in '87, then sold that after 3 years racing it.
The Vitesse was faster up the hills than the 2 litres[:D]
