I like to jump into most Triumph forums and promote each local clubs idea's to great success i may add but like the Stag owners club recently they have stopped that and are now letting only memebers join in the fun

Their loss, but i find that in my own experience like club triumph for instance i doodled around there for a year and finally joined and the Dolomite lads are very friendly but the TSSC and Stags have put me off their clubs and to be honest the csr itself as to me it's promoting a pompous state

One that has done the Register no good in the past and i believe in the end will be a continued thorn in their side.

We really do not appreciate just how good this Forum is

Yes John, it is a shame that there still seems to be a kind of snobbery over here amongst some Triumph owners.

I too have found the Club Triumph members a friendly bunch, I joined a few years ago & attend the odd event with them locally. I am taking part in the CT Round Britain Reliability Run in October, part of a crew in a 2500PI saloon!

I contrast that to an experience with the TSSC, who I joined for a year when I first got my FHC (in ignorance of the existance of TRDC at the time). I went to a local meet, parked my FHC with the assembled Spitfires, GT6s, etc & was greeted by one member who stared at the 7 then said "What are you going to do with that? Wedge open a door or something?" before walking off. I didn'y stay long ...

I just look on it as their loss, John. Join in with the clubs that make you welcome & forget the rest.

The only active Triumph club I have come across in my area is the TSSS (north devon group). Yes they are few in number and wedges are not (were not) on their radar until I turned up.

Neverless they are a happy, friendly lot who if I'm honest have shown a lot more interest in my TR7 and TR8 than I have shown in their Spits, Heralds and Saloons.

We have had a couple of meetings at my place and several road runs etc. and I am not even a member.

I suggest that negative comments about our cars should be "water off a ducks back" after all isn't that what we sign up for by buying TR7/8's? Just let our obsessive enthusism for our car do the talking for us..

My gripe is not normally with it's memebers but the old farts that run the clubs [:D] at local level most clubs are spot on with their memebers it's when the committee get involved [:D]
