crazy relay??

Hey guys,
I just got my 7 on the road after many a year!!!!!
anyway after a few night drives I'v noticed that when i have the lights up, after about a few minutes the relay that controls the pop up lights (i think) goes mental and wont start clicking.
does anyone know why that is, its driving me nuts.
