Why oh Why cut a roof !

Went to go out in my 205 CTI and found a stanley knife on the floor and some nicks inb the roof, the pug has a very sturdy roof.

Then looked at my 7 and some one had cut the side window.

Why do these idiots do such mindless things?

As it involved a stanley knive it must have been preplanned.

How many others have been victims of this senseless vandalism?

This happened on my TR6 once. The top was only about 6 months old. They stole some cassettes and that was it. It really ticked me off, all they had to do was unsnap one of the quarterwindows and they could have had the tapes. Instead they sliced up my practically new top at a time when I couldn't even afford the deductible on my insurance.

Bad luck. Yes I had my Herald convertible fully stolen many years ago although I got it back undamaged. Apparantly the door locks were more flimsy than the rag top.

Sorry to read what has happened, Simon.

"Why do these idiots do such mindless things?" I think you hit the nail on the head - they don't have a mind, just morons

Probably a good idea. Haven't done that yet but may start. I never leave anything in view anyway and have a good double hook anti theft steering wheel bar (if they cut one section of the steering wheel it still won't come off.) It has the original stereo casstte radio so no ones going to steal that (except another collector plate guy loking to make his car qualify.)

Good advice! I don't lock mine up, either. If sombody wants in badly enough, they will get in. By offering little or no resistance, I figure/pray that damage will be kept at a minimum. Unfortunately, in Simon's case, it seems like the dipwads just wanted to be destructive. Here's hoping they track down whoever did this and hang them up by their danglies! Simon,

That bad news, this also happen to my Triton TR7 fhc, the little so called angles, put big deep lines from front to back and also started a nought & crosses grid on my drivers door.

R u going to claim on the insurance or just tape it up.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and it is sad to see so many similar stories of mindless damage.

Jim regards the roof, not thought about claiming it as the last damage to the roof ie the back window going in was according to my insurance review was wear and tear and would not be repaired under my insurance, and I take it the damage to my paint work by the duck tape used at the garage is also wear and tear as they will not repair that either.

I have actually used my hot glue gun and hot glued the slit and also the roof.

It is now water proof.
