What we see above is the more common style of rack sold for the TR7. However, there is also the AMCO rack which is a one piece chromed item from California. It was installed on many sports cars from the TR2 thru the TR8. Being an aftermarket rack, it was sold by car dealers, auto parts stores, and catalog sales.

We have the AMCO rack on our TR7. Not only is it stylish, it is entirely functional for carrying small loads and, more importantly, provides a comfortable handle for pushing the car.

What more could one want?

If you look close enough you see that in Steves pictures you can see a tiny bit of grey plastic between the foot and the bar
- and on mine you can't. I machined some (five?) millimetres off of the stem so as to get it tighter and not showing the plastic filling...

Not sure I can see that.. I seriously wouldn't use it to push the car though gaz, that's probably how it got broken in the first place.

This thread reminded me that I wanted to try & find a rack to fit on a spare boot lid. I still have the lid that came off the car when it was rearended. Has a slight wave in one corner and was easier to just get another than mess with fixing it. Other than the little depression it is already painted with the decals. I would only use it once a year for the annual trip to Watkins Glen.
