Extra rubber on strut spring seat?

Postby prlee » 10 May 2010 19:11

Dismantled the front suspension this weekend. I will be fitting poly bushes to the suspension and subframe and uprated springs.

When I took the strut apart I found a heavy duty piece of rubber sheet about 1cm thick unde the lower rubber seat, seems non standard, any ideas why and should I put it back when I fit the new springs?

If thet were lowered springs it was probably there to stop the springs clonking up and down. Poly seats are thick enough though to do the job.
