Personally I like the understated N/A lights. Unfortunate you guys just got the blanking plates, looks so unfinished. Don't blame you for changing them out. It's not contravening any silly local laws is it?
The reds on the rear wings aren't allowed (lit) in the EU - we have to change them out for the amber version for the front wings if we want to have them lit. /Odd
In The Netherlands the rear can be red , if the car was build before 1991. At first it was a problem at the MOT, but after examining the rules it passed MOT.
just been checking my lights and the 2 cruise type lights on the front don't work , ( the two red ones on the rear wings both come on with the rear lights ) so I had a look underneath and apart from missing bulbs and old wire and old white connecting blocks it looks like it needs to be redone, the old wires ( green indicator wire and red sidelight wire) have both been cut along with the black earth to the indicator and plastic white connector blocks have been used with wires hanging out and none of the ends are live even tho the proper indicator and side lights work fine, so ill strip the old stuff out and use spade connectors to rejoin but if I do it the way it look like its been done then when I have the sidelights on and use an indicator what takes priority ? or should I just use the indicator wire and not the sidelight, How have you got yours?
im tempted to just have them as indicators like newer cars have them, seem some combinations on facebook where they seem to have everything wired in to them.
I have mine wired to the indicators. I believe that is far more useful than using them as marker lamps. I believe it is possible to have them working as marker lamps and indicators but I understand that involves fitting an additional device / circuit presumably to prevent the front and rear sidelights from flashing also. I seem to recall some 70's American cars had such a system (and perhaps more modern ones). I would just keep it simple myself! supercass
