Gas Odor

Petrol and petrol vapour will rot neoprene. mine is getting pretty scruffy, looks a bit like neoprene but assumed it couldn't be.. could it?

I haven't checked the top of the tank, but I will. It's not all the time that I get the smell, just for a couple days after a good drive. I got it out on the expressway for a good drive this week.

neoprene is fuel resistant (used in place of rubber where oil products are present. It's what I make my replacement seals out of.


Also resistant to rocket fuel (very corrosive).
