Another consideration is how you plan to use it, ours was originally Triton which my wife hated so when it was striped down we changed it to persian Aqua which looked realy good, but after a few years of regular use and the inevitable minor repairs it was 15 shades or persion aqua, at this point I painted it a similar pale blue but a flat colour which is much easier to touch up and keep it looking good.
So my advice would be think carfully about weather you realy want a metalic colour.(that said some of the darker colours are easier to blend and match, I never had these problems on my BRG XJS)

If done right,a metallic silver looks pretty good on these I think.
And as others have said,a vibrant color also seems to work well.
Side note:I want one of those rubber boot wing thingies as shown on the orange TR7!![:p]

Many thanks for all the suggestions folks.

I will probably go for a good bright red after all, but nothing is certain until the paint is ordered. It will not be metalic.

It also gave a good opportunity to look at all those nice car pictures.
