I have nothing but gut feeling to base this on but I think it might be my electronic ignition too.

I'll order all the other bits today. Plug, leads etc. Presumably replacing the electronic ignition will be considerably more expensive

Do you buy a whole electronic ignition system or replace bits?

If you have the ability the cheapeast option is to put the car back to points and condenser. Then after it's set up properly if it still has the same misfire symptoms you won't have wasted too much on a replacement electronic ignition. However, the unit I'm currently running in my car is only about £40 to £50 and is completely hidden inside the distributor. If it carries on working for the next 20 years I may even grow to trust it!

Replaced most of the ignition parts today. Took the car for a spin. No misfiring. So hopefully we're done!!! There is a new problem but I'll start a new post. Thanks as always for the help
