Who owns Triumph?

Does anyone know who owns the Triumph name these days?

I remember BMW taking over the rights to most old UK marques, including Triumph. I haven't heard of any subsequent transfers.

BMW does. A number of years ago they gave a Triumph website grief for using the Triumph name/logo which brought out rumours they were going to revive the marque. BMW denied the rumour. Someone put a down payment with BMW (don't know if it was UK head office or a dealership) for the first triumph to come into the UK. They accepted it. Nothing happened since. Don't know if they still have the deposit.

BMW have had 'Triumph' badged prototypes running around over the years and were looking to do a two-seater sports car with front wheel drive based on the Mini floor pan. The dealers in America killed that one and so it was re-worked (apparently) into a Mini sports car that you can see on the roads around the world today.
