Many thanks John - I have a heater out if a car I broke so I think I will refurb that one ready for the "big fit" later. So at least I will have one to compare then I guess it's off to the parts supplier I go.....

There is an alternate heater core seal for the TR7/TR8.
A Volvo radiator sensor seal is available that fits perfectly, seals better that the original, and is of a better quality. Volvo part #’s 1274048, 3510993, 1378869E, or VR389

Equivalent is #101248 available from IPD USA

That looks quite different to the original item but if it fits in place all is well and the right price.......

The original mild steel pipes would still be pitted by rust. Are you able to source replacement pipes in stainless or mild steel?
