Postby unicorn » 29 Jul 2014 16:36

Hello I'm finally putting my tr7 back together and am looking for someone that could help me via email that has a little time ( and patience ) that could mail me photos as I did not remove the engine I'm not sure where all the water hoses, wires and fuel lines are connected I have worked out some and have the engine turning over but I am at a point that I'm googling photos lol I have a rhd dhc and I remember the lights wouldn't pop up and wipers didn't work before I stripped it. Hoping bad earths but a knowledgable person would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
Chris

Where are you Chris?
There may be someone nearby who could help with the knowledge.

No huge rush I have had her since 2007 saved from the scrapyard was a lot bigger project than I could have ever anticipated then short time working and a divorce stopped work on it altogether it's the original 2 litre engine that was seised when I bought her but with only 38000 on the clock I worked on it and un seised it I'm on holiday from the weekend for 2 weeks but was hoping for some food for thought lol

Re: Photos, Beans weblog is one of the best out there. Taking photos of every thing before you remove it and oftenfrom several angles (for those who about to start) may be a little time consuming but worth it's weight in gold as you will never remember how it goes back together. My pictures on photobucket (and those not yet posted) will do you less good as it is a FI model. I would strongly suggest you download the OEM manual from jclay's website (it's in pdf format) and use that rather than Haynes. I have a Haynes for my Integra, Tercel and Spitfires, they don't hold a candle to the OEM manual. They have enough info to get you in trouble but not enough to get you to the end of the job except for the simplest of procedures.

The other good option is to buy it off eBay or Amazon as I find it's always nice to have it in hard copy rather than viewing on the screen and printing out the relevant pages of the job.

As you can see it's rather well used.

When you do the headlight circuits, check this tread out: http://www.forum.triumphtr7.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=20493
Both the factory and Haynes manuals don't do a great job of explaining this circuit, in fact the Haynes manual seems to be written by someone who couldn't be arsed tying figure it out as it says to take it to a dealer! [:D]
