Took the car out for a spin today

Despite the bad weather in other parts of the country today it was actually quite fine in the North East of Scotland. Took a couple of pictures:

Looks like here except our grass is greener and we have more green with our evergreens and arbutus trees. No wonder so many of you guys came over here a century or more ago (unlike Australia we didn't get the convicts but we got the black sheep of the family and the retired military. To bad they brought the Scottish broom with them for a reminder of home. It grew like wild fire and it's a major pain to get rid of.

You should be careful; driving on the wrong side of the road...

Graham, I take my car out most days, that's why I don't win trophies but it's also why I enjoy my car the most :)

Looks lovely, but I am very happy that "quite fine" in my part of the world is a lot drier than it appears to be in yours.

I thought about clamping the outboard onto the rear panel for a run out but decided to leave it on the inflatable for emergencies!

Thought I would give mine a run out today as its been parked up since the bad weather started. I needed to take some rubbish to our local tip/recycling centre a couple of miles away, that is my excuse anyway.

As expected I had to charge the battery but it started up and ran fine. I loaded all the stuff in the boot and tried to drive away - bugger the clutch is stuck on - also as usual. It was now spitting with rain but I was determined to go out in the car so I started it in first and had an exciting couple of hundred yards until the clutch released.

Nice run to the tip with wipers and headlights on (they came up first time) but when I got home and went to turn the lights off the switch fell apart! Had to take the switch panel out to turn them off.

Oh well, something to do before the next outing.
