argh, bonnet

help,
took the car for it's mot today,
pulled bonnet catch, it clicked and popped up but i had to give it a real hard tug (no comments please) to get it to come free,
got home and now when i pull the bonnet catch it pops up the first little bit but then feels solid,
i've tried putting a screwdriver thru the mesh and everything seems to be moving as it should,
anyone have any ideas before i have a few beers and get the angle grinder out and just cut a big hole in the bonnet????

Pull the rubber seal out (the middle one inside the area covered by the fresh air duct) and get yer wifey to stick her little fingers in and move the bonnet release over. It's slightly offset from the middle more to the left when looking from the back of the car, but if she can feel it then it should be fairly easy to move it over. Then hopefully the bonnet catch will fully release.

Before you shut it again make sure you haven't caught the cable up in the fresh air duct. Always check the cable is free after having the duct out and before closing the bonnet.

hi,
thanks for that,
i already got a screwdriver in and the lever moves all the way across,
i'm starting to think it's the actual catch with the spring on that is not centered in the hole,

When you do get the bonnet open take the 2 bolts out and cut a good slot into the top of them and screw them back in
When you close the bonnet you can access the slots through the mesh and loosen them,then tighten them with a screw driver.
Open the bonnet and if it opened ok you can nip them up with a spanner.
Don`t go too tight,if the problem reoccurs you can loosen the bolts with a screwdriver.
I was advised to do this and found it very successful.

pull the bonnet one way or another when trying to open.

when you put the new spigot in, how about cutting a slot in the end that screws into the bonnet - you could then (if it gets stuck again pass a screwdriver through and just unscrew it from the top.
