Handbrake setup

Definitely tidy. Looks like you welded in a section. That would make me nervous even if it was welded correctly. (Just me). It would be nice if an L piece was stamped and ground down to shape or there was a part from another car that could be adapted. Need to wander around an auto wreckers for a couple of days.[:p]

So perhaps I'm lucky that my handbrake seems to work great, or maybe I'm just used to the gorilla pull that my TR4A needs. But wouldn't lengthening the levers on the drum end mean you would need more travel at the handle? Or is there already plenty of travel there?

Daryl consider yourself lucky if your handbrake is still good.
I guess mine had just got a bit stiff in the joints - a bit like the owner.

Found a new problem now, a bit more familiar.

Yes, you do get a bit more travel...probably 2 or 3 clicks of the ratchet.

As long as it's done correctly there's no extra risk with welding metal pieces together.
And it's only one weld in each arm...
