Battery hold down kit

Just put a new correct size battery into my TR7,old one was too large for the plate. Although it should be an easy job I can not see how to fit the "Battery hold down kit", (bought from Rimmers). Anyone else had this problem or got a clear picture of one in position that
I can look at ? Thanks.

Kevin,
If you bought the kit that has the angle iron and two "J" bolts then you may need to do a modification to make it work. I found a hole on the firewall side of the battery rack to take one of the bolts. But I had to drill the rack to take the forward one. The original fasteners on my '80 car had some clamps that attached to the rack. They required a battery with molded ears at the bottom that accepted the clamps. The good thing about the after market kit is you have a wider choice of batteries.

Off topic ,but your pic reminded me of something that I just noticed.
I had a K&N filter on our 03 Accord.
Went to clean it the other day and popped the hood and noticed
There is a paper filter in there.
Not only that , the Sticker that was on the box was gone. You can still see the outline.
Went back thru the receipts and it happened when I was in Wa.
Should have paid more attention to the adviser and paper work

I bought the kit from VB and found the same problem. I went to the auto parts store and bought a generic hold down bolt kit which were longer and solved my problem

I used two uneven length J clamps. One fits in hole in firewall area and other in the hole in turret as there is no provision in the tray.
You can see the longer silver J clamp as goes to the turret. I put some heat shrink on the clamps so there would be no metal to metal contact so the paint wouldn't wear/chip off.

The Ford F-150 I have has a K&N sticker on the air box. I too was surprised to find a paper filter inside when I went to clean the filter. It happened before I owned the truck and they left the sticker in place. I guess we have idiots everywhere throwing away these expensive things replacing them with paper, or maybe its just here in Washington state?
