A day at the Port

I had a meeting at the Port of Tacoma today and it was gloomy but not raining. That's about the best we can hope for around here this time of year! Decided to take the TR7 and got a great parking spot.

But I found out that my heater is barely working. There's always something.

A Great photograph, but I'm not sure about the profile of the rear window. Bulbous, like a Morris Minor, rather than Wedge-shaped!

Nice looking car in blue, though!

That's a different perspective. I like the top better than some. Actually a little further north the ground is dry. I did spend the last few days power washing the tree crap off the roof. Only sun in the forecast. This could get so boring.[8D]

It is a Smoothline - or at the time the PO bought it the company was called Parrish Plastics. It does have a more rounded look than the other tops. From some angles it looks too round to me, but its the hardtop that comes closest to the shape of the soft top on the DHC. And it makes for a much dryer, quieter ride!

Thanks! If I get one for my TR8, that's the one I've been looking at. I do like that it looks similar to the soft top profile. Do you put the soft top back in the summer, or just remove the hardtop? So far I've been OK with the soft top being fairly weatherproof, though it is the original top and isn't going to last forever!

I quite like it. It looks more like a soft top, until you notice the wrap around rear window.

I like the lines of our FHC, but have always felt that the closer a removable hard top is to the lines of the soft top the better it suits the car.

Back n the day My sister had a MBG with a J&S GTB hardtop, these were a fast back style that went all the way to the back of the car and replaced the MGB boot lid with it's own integrated boot lid.
These really did look good in the flesh. They made the MGB GT look like a box in comparison.
The other great advantages of this design were a huge improvement in torsional rigidity (handling) and better aerodynamics (speed) made this car a very quick club racer.

I cant believe how optimistically priced it is,[:0] I imagine at that price it won't be selling very quickly!

Now with a similar concept for the TR-7/8 I imagine something a bit like the Triumph Lynx prototype:

With such a removable hard top you could have a DHC for summer and a practical sports hatch for winter. Surely the best of both worlds.</font id="Comic Sans MS"></font id="size2">

First time I've seen that too. MG's answer to the GT6 but you's have to use an MGC.[:p]

Had a similar roof on my spitfire many years ago - was either an Ashley or Lenham Roof
