Hottest day of the year with not a cloud in the Sky and temp heading north of 80F, I decide to go for a run into town after a day of painting and drywall work (house reno). I do my best imitation of living in Florida or subtropical Queensland and change into a T-shirt and pair of shorts. Driving up my steep driveway I pull my Bud Racing cap low over my eyes as it's 6pm with the sun going low and my Transition aviator eye wear a poor substitution for polaroid sunglasses. After getting a few things from Great Canadian Superstore (my excuse for the drive) I decide to go check out the Cenotaph by the train station were they have free musicians playing every afternoon and evenings all summer as it's Duncan's 100th birthday since incorporation. Some nice jazz from keyboard and fiddle girls and they encore with their own piece, the "Dirty Spoon Rag". Off to pick up some electrical fixtures and take the rural road home on the north side of Quamichan Lake. Take a run around a block to see if the Municipality had picked up the dead buck that had mysteriously died on my property (they had). All in all a nice two hours. Might have to pick up some milk tomorrow evening as it's supposed to be the same. I might even remember to take the Camera.
