I got home a week ago from Portland, and finally started looking through my photos from the All British Field Meet. It was good to see Merv and Jim again; thanks to them for sharing camp and beer with me. Sorry to have missed some of the rest of the gang, either because we didn't cross paths, or because they weren't there. My vapor lock problems that surfaced in July continued to plague me on this trip. The good folks at British Auto Works diagnosed it as a worn fuel pump, and got me on the road again for a few hundred bucks. It was awfully hot for my northern blood, but I had a good time anyway.

The guy (on the right) looking at my Spider also has one (he was driving a GT6). He didn't think an all black car would look good (his was repainted silver below the swage line). He said looking at mine he changed his mind and thought he'd put it back on the road as he was tired of feeling squinched up in his other Triumphs. We might have another convert.[8D]

yes, sans car. I had a short talk with Jim and he said you guys were probably back at the tent or somewhere.
I, like most of the day people, slit earlier than usual to get out of the heat

I'm not sure, but that might be me in the dark at the end of the row with my daughter

Yep, I saw him, however briefly. I got distracted by old friends that I hadn't seen in ten years. One of these years we'll actually get to chat.

I'm always drawn to the races, like iron to a magnet. I forget to hang around our cars and talk to folks.
