I'm only 20 mins away from Rimmers.

I use Robsport mostly, and then S&S Preparations. For the Vitesse I've started using a mix of the TSSC Club Shop and Jigsaw Racing.

Rimmers are really handy for their 'in stock' levels when you just need a small item, but I'm finding their pricing just too high compared to other quality parts.

Example: TR7 Blue Mohair Hood Bag - Rimmers £231, Don Hoods £140.

My earlier comment was rather restrained as i appreciate what they do for this community butttttt since other have brought up issues i will share.

When you buy a kit from Rimmers they throw everything into one big box, all your order mixed up and provide ZERO explanation of what belongs to which kit and what is part of your other order, particularly frustrating with all the nuts, bolts and washers. Their TR8 Conversion Kit documentation was a copy of a copy of a copy making it very messy and hard to read, too cheap to print off something clean in this day and age. No real customer care.

Another issue is their complete inability to give a price for freight. Without any parameters you can not buy within a freight price and often end up with one item too many so your costs leap up dramatically for a larger box just because you added one bush too many. It appears that freight has been a lucrative cost centre for them so their parts are not that cheap at all for overseas buyers.

Now Robsport, they really do help you with freight and provide clear, clean explanations!!! last time i even had Robsport buy off Rimmers for me and even though I paid Rimmers price it was much cheaper due to freight savings.

I have driven within 50 miles of Rimmers and did not swing off to visit them..... even though I was visiting from New Zealand I could not be bothered.

Hmmmm.

Rimmer's makes it's annual appearance on the forum.

I like Robsport since they are only 40 enjoyable country miles away in my 7V8, they have everything and the nice and knowledgable guys smile when they take my money.

S&S are the other end of the country from me so I can't just drop in to collect parts but otherwise everything as above applies.

Rimmers have a fantastic website with parts diagrams etc. Their annual discount offers can be pretty good, I saved quite a bit on their uprated m/cylinder and servo combo. However, they can appear pricey. I'm too far away from them to collect and if something goes wrong it's a bit like pushed from one department to the other but it does finally get sorted. Back in the day when our cars were just old, Rimmers invested in the parts when others such as Cox & Buckles (now Moss) didn't. As they've grown, they appear to have lost the personal service that the others (who are smaller) can provide. Maybe that's the price of growing their business.

Don't forget the likes of James Paddock. I found them really good as well.
