TR7 or TR8 Springs ID?

Postby V8Wedgehead » 06 Jul 2011 12:56

I have a set of NOS front springs that have blue paint on them. I would like to know if they are TR7 or TR8 and also if they are A/C or Non-A/C? The factory manual for the TR7 cover the ACL/ACG cars for color IDs but nothing on just a blue mark. TR8 manual has nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

The standard TR7 front springs I put on have red markings on them.

TKC 3088 IS THE P/N FOR THE BLUE LABELLED SPRINGS.

There is a 1980 BL memo that includes a short writeup about them:

Michael, the front springs on my ACN TR8 coupe have a blue stripe only - look like someone has just run a brush stroke down the spring marking several coils in straight line. AFAIK they are original. This car was built with A/C.

Yup, that's exactly what my TR8 front springs look like Michael. original build spec was a California car with A/C.
