Today was the 4th Cotswold Classic and Sports Car Run, its the 3rd one we have been one, the first with the TR7 the others being with the Spitfire.
The runs always start and finish at the Forest Green Rovers football ground in Nailsworth starting with breakfast and finishing with a dinner in the afternoon. Its organised by a local branch of the Rotary club and all proceeds go the charities.
The runs mainly travel around the backroads of Gloucestershire, some of them being very narrow and rough [:(!]
It is open to classic and older cars and sports cars upto present. Today had a record turnout out of 63 cars and one classic motorbike, these included prewar cars such as Lea Francis, a vintage Rolls, Alvis, Austin and HRG, post war cars included MG, Lotus, Jaguar, Ford, Aston Martin, Nissan and MX5. Triumph was represented by a couple of Stags, Spitfires and 4 TRs 2 of which were TR7s (including mine) Turned out the other TR7 lives only a few hundred yards away and getting out of the passenger side was Steve Redway of the TR register.
Anyway todays run was a 70mile trip to Bowood house for lunch and a 37mile trip back. It included a trip through the vale of the white horse around Pewsey so some excellent scenery.
Heres some pics.
