hood hard to close!

even in sunny South Africa the hood is extremely difficult to erect when cold. Raise it without clipping into the windscreen rail & leave it parked in the sun for an hour. If on a concours that requires the hood to be on, then preferably put it up the week before & leave it up.
Incidentally our fuel(95octane) costs R0.97/litre which at 1 pound = R9.8 means that it is approx Pounds 9.5/litre.

i too have had the same problem and probably like most i have ripped my hood around the poppers trying to put it on when cold...

I think i've solved the problem though.

Buy a hard top!

More secure and warm in the winter (no leaks) and in the summer just remove it. I can't remember the last time i had the hood up on my car.

Ok they are not cheap and some look right nasty, but it's worth a thought and keeping an eye out for a hard top.

The security aspect alone of having a hard top is great peace of mind. Before anyone could have broken in to the car simply by undoing the poppers and opening the door (had my tax disc stolen this way once).

So hard tops are the future!

Assuming your agile enough to remove it by yourself and have somewhere to store it of course.

it is called dyslexia our fuel 95 octane is R9.7 /litre which with 1 pound approx R9.8 means a litre costs us just less than 1 pound.

Hate to rub it in for us Brits but just got back from the annual trip to the Philippines where they are going mad over massive fuel price rises. It went up 4 Pesos/l while we were there. It is now PhP54, about 78p (at Php70/£) for unleaded. Diesel is PhP46/l (66p), makes it interesting that they say diesel is more expensive to produce over here, hence the higher cost!
