Picture Request

Postby McLarenf1l » 19 Feb 2011 02:44

Sorry in advance everyone! I know these rather annoying but I lost my entire hard drive last week, including all of my research for my TR7 projects. Where google and Tineye have failed me, I hope members here can prevail. I am looking for 2 types of photos:

1. Awhile back, I stumbled upon a rear suspension upgrade for a (racing?) TR. They made control arms and had a coil over system. Also had discs installed. I simply cannot find these again and any information on the subject, primarily photos, would be most appreciated.

2. Flush fitting headlight modifications. I found a few of these through google but tineye could not provide source. The particular photos I had were close ups. I'm kicking around the idea of modifying the current lighting system to incorporate the flush mounts but I need to see it first.

Again, thank you to any who can help. Losing a HD is like losing part of my soul; so much of my daily life is simply erased. Cheers

Thank you all for the responses. All of the info I lost has essentially been recovered, and then some. It's either been snowing or freezing rain this past week, so I've just been busy.

John: Those are the exact photos I was looking for. I wish I knew more about those lights, they look so clean.

Regarding the suspension upgrades: Is it conceivable that I could just find coil overs that were the correct length and graft them in? I know it much more complicated but it doesn't seem unreasonable. The only thing I can't quite work out is how to attach the top of the coil to the body.

The car is coming along great. I'll post an update in the other thread.
Again, thank you all for the responses.

I emailed them and will keep you all posted. This could potentially be my first real contribution to the TR7 community, hahaha.

It really doesn't look like a hard project but I would appreciate some precise information, if available. I've seen modification done on VWs before (mk3/mk4) and requires HIDs from a wrecked car ($45 a set on VWVortex/Ebay), a dremel, high heat glue, plexi glass and a plastic welder.

They are available if you look in the right places [;)]
There probably are cheaper options than the ones in the link above.

Ooof. I want them. What brand are they? I guess I'm not looking in the right places. This info was probably previously saved but I lost a lot of it. Rather annoying having to scrounge it all back together.

Also, would you happen to know if what companies sell these?

They are (till date) one-offs fabricated by local company called AST Suspension.
