If you read my bit in the TR8 section, you would have seen the 8 has gone to Sydney. [950Km away] with my son. It only went yesterday.
Today I did a run into town for a prescription for a sick neighbour. I took my 7, which does go very well, for a daily driver 7.
Coming home I got caught behind a 4WD Hilux, behind one of those old farm trucks, that have trouble climbing a hill. The truck was doing 65 to 80 Km up the highway, which was probably pushing the poor thing, but the nice new Hilux making no effort to pass, followed along too close to the truck, to allow me to pass him, without taking the truck as well.
There were some opportunities to take them both, but it would have been cut a bit fine with oncoming traffic, with the 7s acceleration. I would probably have frightened the oncoming driver.
That's OK, I had no real reason to hurry, but after about 16 Km, I was really wondering if I can survive without at least one car that goes like stink. In the 8, I would not have been stuck there very long at all.
You know, I think I saw an add for a Grinnall in Brisbane recently, or was that an S2000 Honda?
