This Months 'Triumph World' Mag

Hi Ladies Aned Gents,
Anyone seen this months Triumph World, got a feature on TR7 V8 versus a MGB V8 hav'nt read it yet but looks good. [:)]
Also there next project car is a TR7 DHC,starting next month. [:D]

I was thinking of doing the same thing in Smiths,Mike!I rarely
buy Triumph world 'cos there is rarely anything wedge related
in it worth mentioning.Its Alright if you own a Stag or TR6,then you can read from cover to cover.

The latest edition is a double issue i.e. January and Febuary.
It has a Spitfire and Midget head to head. I think the TR7V8 and MGBGT shootout is next month (March edition).

Is indeed the March edition,brought it yesterday from the 'libary' i mean WH Smiths! Must be out early,very early!!
Dont know about what you guys think but prefer the old format [?]

Hi John,
The new format (new publisher) is based on a smaller budget than before. I think it may have needed a revamp aswell to appeal to a larger audience i.e. younger audience.
At least it is monthly now.
Not enough TR7's for our liking though.
Maybe later?

I think the last time they featured a TR7 it was the Coca Cola seven a year and a half ago. (I think it was Chris's car). I read it on the bus trip down to Sacramento to pick up my Spider. Other than that they have the odd Q&A in the tech section. They dropped the TR7 column written by a girl (can't remember her name) but I found it interesting reading about the female persective of ownership and was one of the highlights of the magazine. Then there's the owners running reports of which one or two have a TR7 as one of their cars. As time goes on and the cars get older I think you will find them come up more often as a matter of course.

I looked at the current issue (December 2007 here on the far side of the world) and was disappointed to see not so much as a single article on or a single picture of a wedge (except in the classifieds, but that hardly counts).
I will check out the TR8 vs BV8 issue and if I do buy it that will be a first.
The editors at Triumph World would be well advised to pick up a copy of MG Enthusiast for reference. That magazine covers the full MG range from the Vintage sports and saloons to the last MG-SVR's. Every MG owner won't be interested in every article but there is certainly something in there for every owner.
I find there is much better wedge coverage in Classics Monthly which is on my Must Buy list.

Its odd isnt it that although they supposedly are trying to head for a younger audience, the articles on the more affordable Triumphs such as Spits, Heralds and Wedges have become less and less.
These are the very cars that the younger Triumph enthusiast is interested in. Plus the fact that there's very minimal technical content all means its a very boring read and im in their new "younger" target audience.

I have every issue up to December 2007 when my subscription ran out. I have not renewed because 12 issues per year is too many, they were struggling to fill 6 a year so now the mag is filled with bits from other magazines by the same publisher. Also there are now far more adverts and they are repeated in Classic Car weekly so if you buy both you are getting the same ads twice.
