While most of you were at the NEC Classic show I was at NZ's premier classic racing meeting at the Manfeild race track in Feilding.
This is 33 race event for older cars held over 2 days that has been going for as long as I can remember & attracts a few hundred cars. Always great entertainment, the racing is reasonably uncompromising & the range of cars is very good. I put my camera into a mate's old EJ Holden in the Pre-65 race which shows the kind of close racing that goes on with these old cars - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFzxqfoyr2w
I often get asked when I'm going to run my car but when you see a D-Type with panel damage you soon start to think twice about getting too serious about the sport. The time trials are enough for me until the bird of fortune comes back to perch on my shoulder again & allows me the resources to have a dedicated race car. If I modify my TR too much it won't be my faithful tourer anymore.
