Castle Coombe Rally Day 20th Sept. 2008

Postby tr7jim » 10 Sep 2008 15:40

All,

Just to let you know on the 20th September there will be combination of TR7 & TR7V8 again at the Rallday event Castle Coombe. We will be on TR Drivers stand A020, which is usually not far away from the main entrance to the right for interested parties.

In previous years theres been two or three TR7 V8 Rally cars at the show. Last year you could pay to be passenger in Steve rockingham Rallycar SJW548S.

Anyone else going.

Sadly we can't make it this year but it really is an excellent event and I recommend it to everyone.

Make sure you get some videos of the TR7's Jim!

trv8,

Excellant weather this time, did you go in your V8. Can't remember seeing any other V8, other than on the TR Drivers club stand or did I miss one.

I for set off Castle Combe, the sun just coming out, roof down, shades on and the sweet sound of the V8[8D].
After 2 miles (yeah 2 miles) I noticed the windscreen getting all smeary, pulled over to check and there was a fine spray of oil coming from the bonnet vents. Lifted the bonnet and the oil pressure gauge line had split. Oil has covered everything in there,[:0] what a mess.
So, my day was sent cleaning all day.
All nice and clean now[:D].

trv8,

What a shame the weather was excellant, nothing like the previous three years, even got sunburn to prove it.

Hope to see maybe next year.
