Drive it day 2022

Postby stevie_a » 24 Apr 2022 20:49

I was persuaded to take my TR7 out today for drive it day, a quick preparation in the morning the car has sat for just over a year.

Oil change, air filter, spark plugs, rotor arm, distributer cap, HT leads, then out for a quick test drive.

It was cutting out at junctions with a half tank of 2 year old fuel was not good, so into petrol station to top up with some super unleaded.

Now running a bit better and time escaping from me i headed to the run meeting point, a couple of lovely weather and great chat.

And at half way enjoyed fish and chips

We took the FHC out on the Corinium Run for Drive it Day, lots of nice cars on a super day out in the Cotswolds.

To early for me. We are having a cold spring were it goes down to 4C at night and struggles to get up to 10C during the day (almost winter time weather). Not like the lower interior of Eastern BC, Alberta, or Manitoba that have gotten 30 cm to 50 cm of snow in the last few days. Talk of Canadian winters! :P
Southern Manitoba now has flooding below Winnipeg as it all melts and they are asking for the Red River to be released into the floodway (which I helped build in 1966). We'll see if that helps the drought they have experienced the last year or two. If it's not too much of one, it's too much of the other.

Anyway, these last years when it gets warm enough to put the top down, I take it through the spring cleaning and waxing and leave the top down for the summer and don't put it up till I put it away in the fall (no more winter driving for me) and we aren't there yet.
