2013 Van Dusen Gardens ABFM

This past weekend, Victoria Day in Canada, we had Van Dusen on a cool showery (just sprinkling) day. Just took a few pictures, not as many cars, about 30 MGB'S didn't show up but we had 5 TR7's this year and about 8 TR8's. I think the voting is fixed, for the third time they said Category 31, the TR7'S, first place goes to (me), no first place goes to Dave, second place to me, etc. It never happened tp any other category. Once is an anomaly, twice a coincidence, three times it's fixed.[B)] Bill's really nice black Sprint didn't even get a plaque, third place going to a yellow TR7 that had the new paint applied over chipped surface without any prep.

Here's a link to slide show.

Nice. One of these years I'm going to make it up there for this one. I spent Saturday parked with a bunch of Yank Tanks. Still it was fun.

One of the reasons I just can't be bothered with judged shows anymore... (the other reason is my car is more driver and just not as perfect as she used to be......for now [;)])
I really can't stand the politics of club judging.

Ron.

I don't mind, it's only an ugly plaque, not a nice frosted beer mug like last year in Portland.

Hi,

Looks like a lot of UK built car's there [8D] Not sure how a BMW built Mini ( looks like a limited edition GP ) got in there though !

With you gents and awards, would rather drive my cars than polish them ! Only cups and shields I have ever won have been a complete shock to me [:0]

Cheers John

Most of the Mini is made in Britain (Newer models are up from 40% TO 60%) while Countryman and diesels are made in Austria. What surprised me was the BMW bubble car was made in Britain. But the the Fiat Topolino was as well although there wasn't one here (at least those sold in Britain). Many manufacturers that are not British make cars in Britain and while you don't usually see them in All British car shows they do pop up from time to time, it's usually just the traditional makes that are now owned by foreign companies. We were told by the announcer to go out of our way to be especially nice to new Mini owners as they tend to feel a little left out.[:)]

Gee, that sounds familiar. What group of car owners that we know of have experienced that feeling before? [;)]

Tell me about it. Last year at Portland ABFM they didn't even have a TR7 sign to mark the section. I just parked beside the TR8's and told one of the Triumph club members and he went scurrying off to find the sign. Ended up there was only two of us any way with a big space as previous years we had close to a dozen. At least this year it looks like there will be Ron's TR7V6, Bill's Sprint DHC and mine. Don't know if Cale's bringing his coupe. If he does that would make the Canadian twice as large as the whole field of last year.[:p]
