Cruise-In for veterans

I went to this cruise-in here in Vancouver today. It benefited a local veterans group. Today is Armed Forces Day after all. I got carried away with the picture taking. I don't get to see so much American iron to often. It was a really eclectic group. An old Porsche, a couple hopped up Subarus, a couple Minis and I were the only imports there. There was a pretty good Elvis "tribute artist" there. I tried to get a picture through the window that didn't come out. He sounded good though and was a bit of a comedian to boot. The TR8 drew a lot of attention, more than most of the cars there. I had to tell the story of the V8 over and over. I kind of liked it. [:D] The rain mostly held off until the end. It was a different kind of show for me. I enjoyed talking to all of the other motor heads.

beautiful cars , I fell in love with that Chevelle drop top, only to be infatuated shortly thereafter by the Saleen!

There was supposed to be a similar event in Anchorage today; a parking lot show & shine, followed by a cruise to the local drag strip. But we got several inches of snow overnight, so the whole thing was postponed. The TR6 stayed in the garage, and I drove the Jeep on my Saturday errands.
