Portland All British Field Meet

Postby Last TR » 11 May 2013 22:10

I'm planning to spend the Labor Day weekend at the Portland ABFM. I skipped it last year to attend the All Triumph Drive In. Hoping to see some of you guys in Portland.

Well, if you can make it all the way from Alaska, I guess I should try to make it all the way from just north of the Columbia!

That would be great. I'll be coming from Alaska; my car will just be coming from Hillsboro.

I plan on being there, as usual, this year. I've only missed a couple since 1983. Whether or not I camp out again kind of depends on my job situation. It is always a good time and has only rained a couple times over the years. The worst rain just happened to coincide with my first time camping. I survived but would much prefer it to be dry. [8D]

Jim, I can't imagine the weather much worse than in 2009, though the rain did at least slacken a bit Saturday and Sunday afternoon. (Whose blue tarp is that?) I'm planning to camp this year. Gotta remember ear plugs for the nighttime train traffic. I can't believe the neighbors object to occasional races at Portland International Raceway, when they have the rail yards there every night!

That isn't a blue tarp, that was my custom soft top.[:p] Dan Stewart said it made my car look like the TR250K. Ha! I do have a serviceable top now to go with the new paint job. Hopefully it won't see the light of day. Earplugs are a great idea, I'll have to remember some myself. The noise from traffic on I-5 is nothing compared to that switching yard.
