Stoneleigh Restoration Show Today

Postby john 215 » 21 Oct 2012 18:45

Hi,

Took a drive along this morning in my FHC [8D], not as big as other years and nowhere as busy as i have seen it, i guess a sign of the time. Got a few bits and pieces, plus met a few old friends and had a good chat with the lads from Robsport. By the time i left the car park were emptying out but a couple of pictures from the day.

There was a Sprint there running solid carb blocks, so took a couple of shots, owner said no issue's with them.

Nice pictures John.
Did you see the Marina Coupe indoors. It had drum brakes on the front!!!!
Scary.
I've heard Steve Rockingham's Ex-Works TR7V8 will be on the Register Stand at the NEC Classic Show.
Anyway, nice to see you.
Cheers.

I remember doing lower trunion's on those. They were basicaly a threaded jiont at the base of the front suspension upright, this upright turned in the trunion and seize up. The first one i done as a apprentice, heated it up to get it off, didnt remove the grease nipple at the base, the grease expaneded and the cap at the base shot out like a bullet [:0] To which all the other mechanics found very funny [:p]

Great news about Steve Rockingham's car being displayed, will have look at that one

Cheers John
