TR Drivers Club National Weekend 2012 Now CANCELLED.

Please note that the TR Drivers National weekend scheduled to take place on Saturday 30th June & 1st July has had to be cancelled due to the current ground conditions at the venue and the Met Office weather warning for heavy rain for the next week.

This will hopefully come as no surprise with Biling Aquadrome been evacuate in the start of May, with continuing rain since. The Puddleduck show field has standing water currently, with no sign that this will improve at all.

Will are now looking at all alternative plans for the National, one of the options is to joined the TR Register at Malvern, with the Stag Owners club on the 10th - 12th August 2012, so we can still have a yearly event together.

Why is the TRDC International held at Billing? Surely the clue is in the name, Billing AQUA drome. Worse still the field is called Puddleduck meadow! There has got to be a better venue than this!

Steve,

I do agree with you, just don't exspect the highest rain fall in June since records began

I hope your campsite is fairing up better than Puckleduck, another picture with ducks on the field, taken over a week ago with abit less water on the field.

"Hasn't stop raining here in North Devon for 24 hrs and that on top of last weekends constant heavy rainfall".

Sounds like its just as wet where you are Steve, most of the alternatives have also had cancellations.

Yes it's still raining massively. We had over 200 campers this weekend. Festival goers for the Goldcoast Oceanfest. Rain helped us immensely. Campers stayed in their tents instead of sitting around bar-b-ques getting drunk, noisy and making a hellava mess. Ideal! All gone now but even so it took about 2 days to clear up. We had one field pedestrian only, one field for parking. The access road looked challenging but in fact only one person got stuck.

Could we open this weekend? Yes easily. You can all come here..

We will be at Billing this weekend. So will Steve Jackson who is coming over from the Isle of Man for the event. We're going to make the effort and meet him there as he's going to such effort. And we will be in the TR.

I haven't been able to get on the forum to discuss all this due to pressure of work but I have a few minutes before I'm off on the next job so just so you're all in the picture I have been talking to the TR Register since March about the TRDC having a second national weekend at Malvern with them and the Stag Owners Club. I need to know if the membership is interested in this before nailing down the details so please post on here if you want me to persue this.

The TRDC membership need to be emailed so almost everyone is notified personally about next weekend being cancelled but at the moment it looks like this is down to me. I will try to get to it but as I currently look to have no spare time for the next few days (apart from a few hours sleep!) I cannot guarantee I can do this. So can anyone who has any email contacts of anyone either in the club or who has a wedge please email them just in case they were thinking of coming along. And if you do get a round robin email from me as well then at least we've covered all possibly avenues of communication.

I normally pop in for a day at Malvern anyway John so i'm quite happy to have a meet there

I can also see some old guard being against this idea but with club membership falling through all clubs surely it makes common sence

I was almost certainly going to Malvern for a day trip probably the Sunday, so happy to be involved with a TRDC meet there.

Personally I have felt for a while now that closer cooperation & joint events between the various Triumph clubs has to be the way forward. We already see this happening, for instance the New Forest Run down here, & the Register joining forces with the Stag OC this year for their National.

As John says no doubt there would be resistance from some elements of the bigger clubs but if their management & committees have the foresight to work with other clubs then it must be to the good for Triumph owners overall.

Hi,

Always try to get along to TR Reg national for at least a day when not at Malvern, when at Malvern attend the whole weekend and will do this year. Hopefully we can get a TRDC camping area [?]

Anyone never been to a TR Reg national make this year your first, its huge and always something going on and the Saturday disco is great, even better with 'our' Wayne S on the decks [8D]

Cheers John
