Yes my son has never driven the car at all and was pretty nervous. He soon got to grips with it though and at one point was faster than me! Beat him in the end though..

Cars we were faster than.. generally speaking.. the Ford Anglia with 3000 V6, the Porche 911, the TVR Tasmin. Only other class entrant was mk 2 Ford Escort, we started about two seconds slower and at one point narrowed the gap to 0.5 of a second but he pulled it back to about a second come the end. Not too shabby I thought for our first hillclimb against a pro.

Same scenario (different Escort) last Sprint we did.. the TR is more powerful but doesnt get the traction down so well (we were on street legal tyres not racing tyres). The TR is heavier and not so nimble. It's a personal thing but I dont want to start taking original parts from the car and substituting fibreglass or swapping glass for perspex etc. The car is huge fun to drive and at the moment thats enough.

The car we were not faster than...

We were also not faster than several Lotus Elan/Elises, Mitsubushi Evo's, lots of single seaters etc. etc.

We took some in car footage with the iphone taped to the passanger seat.. don't laugh, worked quite well.. except they are sideways on the pc! Try and sort that out another day.. it's been a long day and time for bed, problem is I keep seeing trees rushing towards me!
