At the last minute I've decided to go to the 29th Annual ATRDI. The 8 still isn't road worthy so I'll be driving the Maxima. It'll be nice to have AC though. I'll attempt to post some pics next week.

Well, it was a nice show, perfect weather, but dissapointing wedge turn out. 2 Tr7s and 4 TR8s. I didn't take too many pictures, and the ones I did take aren't very good. They were celebrating 40 years of the TR6 and the field was lousy with them followed by Tr3s. The TR8 in the second picture on the far right was a light blue metallic color that I hadn't seen before. The owner told me what it was called but I have completely forgotten now. It was very pretty and my horrible picture doesn't do it justice.

It's always good to see Triumphs on the road and amazing to see some together in North America given it's so big. Any photos of the other Triumphs and how many cars were there in total?

John, there were 80 cars total. I saw license plates from Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Idaho, and British Colombia. Like I said before only the 6 Wedges, 5 Stags, a couple Herald convertibles, a 2000 sedan, a Dolomite Sprint (right hand drive of course), a handful of Spitfires and GT6s and a bunch of TR6s, TR4s, TR250s, TR3s. The guy from Alaska trucked his very nice TR4 down for the show. I think that the Al-Can highway is paved the whole way now but it would still be brutal in a 4. Again my photos are bad, but here you go. Oh, I got a few more in the hotel parking lot this morning, I'll get those posted soon.

Okay, some parting shots. I would still like to know the name of the color of the light blue metallic TR8. I was out early this morning walking the dog. When I got up to pack out, the whole British Columbia contingent had left. My wife said that it was a good thing our 8 wasn't ready. She thought that all 80 cars were perfect. Well not quite but certainly none as bad off as our car right now. It's funny to me that 28 years ago when I first started going to these things the Herald's were the most neglected and beat up Triumphs that showed up. The two that were here this weekend were both very nice. There was also a third Herald convertible in the parking lot that didn't take part in the show wasn't as nice as the other two but was nice compared to the ones we used to see. I think that the Dolomite Sprint and the Mimosa small mouth TR3 were the only cars with right hand drive.

Thanks for the pictoral tour. I was always impressed with the time & money the Americans put into their cars. So many perfectionists in one place did my head in to be honest. [:)] In my 6 year stay in the US I think only ever saw 1 Herald.

If the cars colour was as mine is (it`s difficult to tell by the pictures) the it`s called Persian Aqua.

Andy, no, it is not Persian Aqua, there are quite a few that color around. This color on first glance, looks more like the Platinum Silver color but it has a slightly blue tint to it. I talked to the owner, briefly, and he said it was a stock Triumph color. I wish I had a chance to follow up with him to get the actual code. I've been a member of the Portland Triumph Owners club since 1982 and have been going to shows since then, but I'd never seen one this color before. Maybe it was a special British Columbia only color?

I don't find any "Chrystal" blue paint in the list ????

"Crystal Blue" would be a good description. In this photo the car with the bonnet open is the "Crystal Blue" one the next car to the left is Persian Aqua, and the next one is Platinum Silver. Oh well I guess it is a mystery. It probably wasn't a stock color, but pretty nonetheless.
