Inlet manifold not sealing

Postby mrpatatomoto » 14 Nov 2011 00:20

I hope someone can help solve this problem I'm having, The coolant part of the Inlet manifold into the Head isn't sealing, Its got a brand new O-ring Torqued to spec. But when I put fluid in it comes out between the manifold and the head. Doesn't go into the cylinders thankfully.

Thanks,
Mike

The gasket goes on this way:

If you put in on backwards, there is a water hole that is not blocked:

It would appear that the o-ring is leaking, but it is water coming out of this hole.

When the inlet manifold is tipped up to get bolted, sometimes the O ring falls out of position. Some use a couple drops of crazy glue to hold it in place until manifold is clamped. The other thing is the O ring the right thickness?

The O-ring stays in place, but I was wondering about that smaller hole earlier, Ill check that tomorrow I think the gasket might be backwards. Could be the whole problem. Thank you. I just assumed it was coming out of the bigger hole didn't know where the smaller hole went to.

Flipped the gasket around and presto it doesn't leak anymore, Now all I need is some gas and another once over to make sure everything's correct and it should start. Fingers Crossed.
