Re: TR7 Interior mirror

Being low in the 7 means getting very bright lights in the mirror. How about an auto dimming unit?

Re: Parts identification

#4 looks like a hard-line, or cable clip. Perhaps the bonnet release cable clip? Choke?

Re: Boot lining

I made my own for the yellow FHC. It was a fun project, and not too costly. Some ideas that have worked for me include making a new spare cover from plywood (embossed with TR7 logo), creating an access panel for the lights, using sound deadening material, and led strip lighting. A craft store suppli...

Re: Headlining Colour

When I did my repaint of the headliner, I was also changing the heater matrix (dash out), having the seats recovered, and installing sound deadening (no interior). This allowed me to spray all of the liner including the areas that are overlapped by other trim pieces. Remember to use light coats to a...

Re: Headlining Colour

I had a couple of smallish tears in my headliner, as well as a lot of yellowing (glue?). A vinyl repair kit, and rattle can of vinyl paint turned it into a job I'm proud of. If this will work for your project, remember to mask off everything else (or strip the interior), and do the sun visors.

Re: Door handle covering

I had mine powder coated along with other bits such as the windscreen surround. They've held up for about six years so far.

Re: Starter issue.

Thanks for the reply. I've cleaned, slapped and tickled everything around and put the starter back in. It works as it should for now. I couldn't get a repeat reading, so it may have been my issue. I have fixed nothing, so we'll wait for it to fail again. I also swapped out a borrowed exhaust header ...

Starter issue.

77TR7 coupe standard. Problems with the car delaying to shut down after the key was switched off. This would take about one second for the engine to stop. The key/barrel portion is also loose in the column. This points to a replacement job. Before I completed this work, I noticed the car wouldn't al...

Re: Boot carpet template

I've done a reasonable job of carpeting my yellow coupe. I used a corrugated plastic board found in craft stores, bound to a rubber backed indoor/outdoor carpet. I created a template with cardboard first. I'm going to try and upload pictures again (moderators are welcomed to tweak them...please?), i...

Re: Back to black

I had my door pulls powder coated for durability along with the window trim and boot lock as per forum advice. I'm very happy with the result. As for painting other parts, I also used the "trim black", again happy with the result.
