POWER STEERING

I have finally got to the point in life where I accept the steering on my TR7V8 is too heavy at slow speeds (yes I am old). The electric conversions look like the most sensible idea these days but my concern is their reliability, has anyone been using this type of conversion for a while and can atte...

Re: the famous clutch master cylinder

Out of interest more than anything but is the port on the master cyl the same size as the slave? There is such a mix and match of metric and imperial sizes I never know whats what. :? One last thing,is there an alternative for the screw on lid, mine has corroded and a plastic one would be a bit more ...

Indicator stalk

Need one of these (l/h) but have been offered a Mini one for a reasonable price ie cheap.
Does anyone know if they are the same?.
Rimmers show two different part No's so I assume they may not be .
If its only a question of the plug it should be easy enough to swap over.

Re: New model car TR7 DHC 1:18

Regarding the headlights, one of them should be up and one down.
As mentioned before, panels gaps too small and too neat.
Realistic my arse.

Re: LT77 GEARBOX OIL PUMP

It seems that if the gearbox is ok I may have to get the steel gear anyway as fibre ones are hard to get hold of and command higher prices. The 19A gearbox I also have has no oil coming out of the test port so I assume the pump is toast.I suppose the rest of it is no good as there would have been no...

Re: LT77 GEARBOX OIL PUMP

I have to admit that is one of the reasons I thought about the fibre gears.
When the box is stripped down I will look to see how much debris is embedded.
Thanks for the input.

LT77 GEARBOX OIL PUMP

Having got a problem with 5th gear synchro(crunching on the change up) I have decided to use the box that was in my 84 SD1 2.0. It was perfect when taken out in 1993(no swarf on drain plug when drained - 43,000 miles) and has sat in the garage ever since. I'm going to go over it and fit new gaskets ...

Re: Anti-dive Kit bush problem?

Did the anti dive mount have a section cut out like the one on this page?

If not that would explain your problem.

Re: Speedo not working

I had trouble with mine,I had not pushed the cable into the g/box(5 sp).
I found it easier to put the cable into the speedo first then do the g/box end after.

Re: REAR AXLE LOWER TRAILING ARM MOUNTS.

I have been down to see a friend who can knock up the axle brackets quite easily and weld them to the axle. He asked why the stop bracket is separate as it is bolted on via two 5/16 bolts and the trailing arm bolt, this is a major reason for the corrosion. I have no idea why it has been done this way...

Re: REAR AXLE LOWER TRAILING ARM MOUNTS.

After giving it some thought I think cutting the old off, fabrication of new mounts and using the other axle for reference when fitting is practical.
I would hate for one of us to fall victim to this problem so if it prompts you to check, that's all I ask.

REAR AXLE LOWER TRAILING ARM MOUNTS.

I have been stripping an axle today in prep for a rebuild. Can only say I was truly horrified to find that both mounts were corroded beyond repair,as were the the stop brackets. This has made me think that there may be a few of us unwittingly driving around with mounts like this.the rest of the axle...

Re: 16" MG TF Alloys

I have fitted them but used a 10mm spacer to get them to sit out a little more as they looked to be too far in the arch.
I only had a slight rub on the front part of the wing at the bottom of the arch when in reverse so tweaked that bit a little.
Worth it in my opinion as they look great to me.

Chancer or are they really worth this?
