TR7 Grey Dashboards - More than one shade from the factories?

I Have a Canley 1980 with grey dashboard. I bought a replacement console cubby and when I got it the tint of the part was slightly off. I'm guessing the part may have come off a Solihull car, either that or possibly bleaching from the sun.

The circlip plier I have werent strong enough. I had a pair of needle nose pliers which were bent at 90 degrees. That did it easy. thanks.

Rheostat

O I am trying to take out the light rheostat because the panel it's mounted in is messed up. My issue is that I can't figure how to do it. There is a metal washer that surrounds the nut that holds the rheostat in place and prevents access. I can't get that off so I can access the nut and remove it. ...

Questions - TR7 Radio Installation

As I like to do, I like to do research before I tackle small projects on my 1980 DHC. Next up, replacing the old radio with a more modern unit. I bought a cheap DIN unit off E bay. Looks like it'l fit, no problem. How do I tackle removing the new and reinstalling? I'm comfortable with the wiring par...

Re: shaky tach and speedo

Little pippin: Do you recommend I try to do this from under the dash or take the speedo out from the front? Thanks for your help.

shaky tach and speedo

Both the tach and speedo on my 80 DHC are shaky at various speeds. The speedo gets shakier as the speed increases, the tach swings back and forth like crazy when increasing the rev's. Any ideas on a cure? Should I just try to replace?

Hazard flasher

I replaced the hazard flasher in my tr7 with one sourced from Moss. Still no work! The new one is round where the old one was rectangular so it doesn't fit into the clip. Could this be the problem? Lack of ground? Anthony

Hazard Flasher

Does anyone know which of the 5 or 6 relays in the rear of the glovebox is the one for the hazard warning lights?

Re: Gear stick banging up and now

I don't remember having a problem when I did mine. If you do it with the gearbox in neutral, you can move the bushing position as you do it with the shift lever.
If all else fails, you can do this from in the car if you unbolt and move the console. Also not a big deal.
