Archive Info

My mate has a 1977 FHC, he is trying to put it back in the road, but the VIN and engine numbers are missing. DVLA are being less than helpful, even though they know this info they want him to have it VOSA inspected and they will issue a new number based upon the latest component. He would obviously ...

Re: car starts to stutter

I had vaguely similar symptoms in my sprint engines TR, the car ran fine at small throttle openings, was a little lumpy at idle but really missed when you put some load on to the point there was backfiring. Back off a little and it was all ok again. Traced it to a stretched timing chain eventually. ...

Re: Completely Dead

Update: Firstly... Fingers intact Turned out the battery was flat, I put the booster on it and it fired up and held charge. I’ve disconnected the headlamp motors and it’s been ok for 24 hours. I have a spare motor and will swap the dodgy one over and hopefully everything should be tickitty boo! That...

Completely Dead

Good morning gents I have been using my car as a daily driver for the past few weeks with no dramas (thanks to a Citroen trying to eat it’s own engine). Over the past few days the near side headlamp lift slowed to the point it didn’t raise at all, I cleaned and lubricated everything in sight and all...

TR7 Wheels Compomotive CX1463

Impressive service from Compomotive, I got a reply this morning from Barry: These look like 14” CX1463’s from the late 1980’s ... Yes we did offer that specification at that time Looking good after 30 years I would say! They are going to have to be sold to fund more welding supplies. I need to decid...

I have emailed Compo directly the CX is close but different centre shape.

I’ll let you know what they say

Re: Car storage

coming back to this, I have finally (I think) found some space to rent which is able to accept cars but not on a business footing - i.e. storage of my own cars is OK but not renting out space to third parties, so that puts that idea to bed, Scribe was right not many landlords are keen on cars at all...
