Re: Reduce the Tax exemption age for classic cars to 30 years

Ha Ha Beans and Cobber,so right never ever trust a politician, the three qualities needed to become a politician, a competent liar, an equally competent actor but most important of all to have a bloody good memory as you need that for the first two qualities

Re: Reduce the Tax exemption age for classic cars to 30 years

Thanks Beans for the information I know you have mentioned in your blogs about the time your cars are off the road and when you are having your first drive back on the road. Hopefully, the goverment will keep the tax exemption on a permanent basis as is because like all goverments they can change th...

Re: Reduce the Tax exemption age for classic cars to 30 years

Hi Russ, you are probably right in that respect and could cause a lot of concern where people buy a car within the age group, get free road tax & mot, then run them for a while and put them in a scrappage deal. I think that the 30 year deal applies to a lot of countries on the continent, Beans c...

Re: DHC Free Road Tax 2021

Cheers for the info Stevie, as there seems to be no clear cut info on the road fund issue if the engine and suspension has been changed even though the car is over 40 years of age I was unsure if the car would be RFL free, as far as the mot is concerned it will be tested every year regardless. Re: DHC Free Road Tax 2021

On my Heritage Certificate that I have recently received the engine number is obviously the original 2 litre engine number, as the car was converted to V8 back in '94 will this stop the car being classed as historic therefore not eligible for free road tax, i am not bothered about the exemption as I...

Re: DHC Free Road Tax 2021

Hi all, I received my Heritage Certificate today and my car was built on the 10th June 1981 and registered on the 24th June 1982 does this mean that I will have to wait until next April to register the car as Historic?

Re: Starter

Hi, I have had a High Torque starter on my V8 for many years, about 2003 I think, I purchased it from S&S and not had any problems with it at all, I also had one on my 7, again from S&S and no problems. I have no knowledge of the Powerlite ones but I have never had any problems with the High...

Re: ..we knew...

Hi Russ, I don't think it will be on because on the 5th Oct it was the Jeep resto.
I made a mistake on this there was a list of cars on the programme in Classic Car Weekly and also on the facebook page saying that it was the TR7. :(
Sorry all.

Re: ..we knew...

There was a list in Classic Car Weekly listing each episode and what car was featured, so I hold my hands up to starting the rumour. :P
